Several years ago a horn player asked me whether I could build a horn for him that, in its design, would match his Alexander horn. My answer was short and I hope polite: if you’re looking for an Alexander horn, I would advise you to contact my dear colleagues in Mainz. As a result of this request I developed my own design with the changing valve of the 103 model.
The special feature is that the F-Horn uses the same direction of airflow as the Bb-Horn and I think its appearance has turned out to be a success, too. At a first glance you can see that it’s not a 103 model. However with its tone quality it has certainly remained in the tradition, and I attach great importance, as with all of my instruments, to the highest quality of playability and intonation.
